Who would be your most fascinating people?

Barbara Walters chose hers last night...what's the criteria? What makes a person fascinating?

    From Merriam Webster's Dictionary:

    fascinating

: extremely interesting or charming : captivating

    hmmmmm

I am going to have to think about that...any suggestions?

I agree with Dave Kallaway (I *think* he said this) that maybe Tiger Woods should've been on Bab's list.  Not because of what he did but isn't his story captivating? Maybe for the wrong reasons but weren't we all fooled by the clean image? Wouldn't we all like to really know who he is?  It's none of our business but don't you kinda want to know?

Let's leave it there for today. Your keyword is "FASCINATING"

    divorce

Yet another story involving extramarital lust has grabbed golfing great Tiger Woods by the tail in a saga that is beginning to be par for the course daily for the PGA star.  According to RadarOnline.com, emails the golfer sent to alleged mistress Rachel Uchitel contain negative comments about his wife, Elin.  The website reports one leaked email to Uchitel says, ''I finally found someone I connect with, someone I have never found like this.  Not even at home.  Why didn't we find each other years ago?"  And it doesn't end there.  While Tiger has been showing his real stripes to fans and sponsors, there is word nude pictures of the golfing phenom exist.  A source at "Playgirl" magazine tells "Life & Style" they have the photos in hand but are still trying to authenticate the pictures as those of Woods. your keyword is "enough"

Tiger Woods' scorecard is starting to head toward the back nine.
A little over a week after he crashed his SUV outside his Florida home, the scandal-plagued golfer has seen alleged mistresses crawl out of the woodwork. The New York Post says the number could be as high as nine now, with a Florida cocktail waitress and a New York City clubgoer among the latest to join the fray.
And for Elin Woods apparently nine is enough. According to a report on RadarOnline.com, Elin has moved out of the couple's $2.6 million Windemere home and is living nearby in another house.
    (my thoughts...)
What will it take for Tiger to get back (if ever) in the good graces of his fans? Of the public?  Cheating the way he has begs the question,
"Why even marry in the first place?"
If he liked being with many women, why did he marry?
    Public pressure? Personal pressure? Reputation?
It's a weak and flawed person who does this to their family-the spouse-the kids-their career-their reputation. Tiger needs help.  He's got a problem.  And, the women who cheated WITH him-knowing he has a wife at home and two kids really need help, as well.  I'm amazed that his sponsors are sticking by him.  Your keyword is "cheat."

I'm keeping the blog a little short and sweet today...I'm in denial. I have a b-day on Sunday and I USED to be very open when discussing my age but I'm finding that when people ask how old I am, I get defensive.  "Why do you want to know?" I'm going to be 39.  I'm almost 40.  And 40 is almost 50.  50 is close to 60.  60 is close to 70.  70 is almost 80 and that's old.  You get my point.  Using my logic, I'm really close to 80 and it FREAKS me out.  Your keyword is "birthday" and don't ask me how old I am.  I'm not ready to talk about it!

  • A Fall From Grace...

From Tiger's website comes this statement....

    tiger kisses many

I have let my family down and I regret those transgressions with all of my heart. I have not been true to my values and the behavior my family deserves. I am not without faults and I am far short of perfect. I am dealing with my behavior and personal failings behind closed doors with my family. Those feelings should be shared by us alone.

Although I am a well-known person and have made my career as a professional athlete, I have been dismayed to realize the full extent of what tabloid scrutiny really means. For the last week, my family and I have been hounded to expose intimate details of our personal lives. The stories in particular that physical violence played any role in the car accident were utterly false and malicious. Elin has always done more to support our family and shown more grace than anyone could possibly expect.

But no matter how intense curiosity about public figures can be, there is an important and deep principle at stake which is the right to some simple, human measure of privacy. I realize there are some who don't share my view on that. But for me, the virtue of privacy is one that must be protected in matters that are intimate and within one's own family. Personal sins should not require press releases and problems within a family shouldn't have to mean public confessions.

Whatever regrets I have about letting my family down have been shared with and felt by us alone. I have given this a lot of reflection and thought and I believe that there is a point at which I must stick to that principle even though it's difficult.

I will strive to be a better person and the husband and father that my family deserves. For all of those who have supported me over the years, I offer my profound apology. Your keyword is "cheating"

So, I have to ask...(Stacy here) Now what? The "perfect" family man/athlete with the perfect life has fallen from grace.  Now what? Wasn't part of why we liked him so much is that he was different from other scumbag athletes? He showed love for his wife, love for the game, no scandals, the guy we all want as our best friend? Does this matter? Does everyone eventually cheat? I'm just scratching my head.

    dog with nails

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A 2-year-old basset hound is recovering after eating more than 100 nails, WAPT-TV in Jacksonville reported. Ashley Saks said she couldn't believe what she saw when the veterinarian brought her the X-rays. “I counted about 130, but I don't know how many she threw up before she was taken, so it could've been more,” Saks said.

The X-rays showed a clump of about 100 or so nails stuck at the base of Roxy's stomach. At that point, there were already a few stragglers that had made their way through her intestines. “They put her to sleep, stuck something down her throat, and pulled them out a few at a time,” said Saks. “Because it was such a big bulk, they couldn't just pull them out; it took over an hour to do that.”

Saks said she left the dog with a friend for the weekend while she was out of town, and told her friend to make sure to lock Roxy up whenever he left because she doesn't like being alone. (Your keyword is "REST") But on Nov. 21, he ran to the store thinking Roxy would be OK, and that's when she found the nails, Saks said. Saks said the nails didn't puncture any of Roxy's internal organs.

    LIGHTS

WASHINGTON, Nov. 25 (UPI) -- The American Red Cross advises families to make some changes in how they interact and eat at Thanksgiving, to prevent the spread of the swine flu virus. Sharon Stanley, chief nurse of the American Red Cross in Washington, says Thanksgiving is all about food, family and friends -- but with H1N1 flu still circulating families can take some steps to keep the celebration happy and healthy. Your keyword is "safety"

Stanley advises to: -- Avoid the usual kisses and handshakes when greeting friends and family.

-- Wash hands frequently, before preparing food, while cooking and always before eating.

-- Keep plenty of hand soap in the bathroom, preferably in a pump container.

Skip pretty hand towels and use disposable hand towels or a roll of paper towels.

-- Consider putting the glasses away and using plastic cups, or provide a way for guests to identify their drinks to avoid drinking out of anyone else's glass.

-- Put serving utensils in every dish, including snacks like nuts, pretzels or potato chips, so people can spoon out their portion instead of reaching in with their hands.
