Ever since the huge shakeup over at the   X Factor, with host Steve Jones and judges Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul departing, there's been talk that Simon Cowell wants to hire Mariah Carey to join him on the panel.   Would that ever happen?  Ask the guy from   American Idol.

Speaking with reporters on conference call on Thursday,   Idol's Randy Jackson , who actually manages Mariah, was asked about the   X Factor rumors.   "She'd be amazing" on the show, said Randy, but added, "I don't  know  if that's ever going to happen."  He went on to say, "Simon's one of the   smartest people I know.  I'm sure he's got some  very interesting   ideas up his sleeve."

On principle, though, Randy wouldn't be opposed  to having Mariah work on show that is a direct rival to   American Idol .   "No, no, not at all.  She's her  own person," said Randy.  "She can of  course do whatever she wants and she always will  do that."

But how about another superstar diva as the new   X Factor judge?  Appearing at a pre-Super Bowl press conference in Indianapolis on Thursday, Madonna was asked if she'd be interested in the job, were Simon to approach  her.  "I think I have enough jobs," she demurred.  "But thank you for  thinking of me -- if [Simon] did."

Taylor Swift is great at a lot of things: singing,  songwriting, playing musical instruments, winning awards, looking perfect.  But now, a  newly-released Grammy Awards promo shows the one thing that she pretty  much stinks at: beat-boxing.

In the promo, LL Cool J , the host  of the Grammys, and Taylor are standing in front of a huge Grammy  statue.  LL starts beat-boxing and freestyling about Taylor appearing at  the Grammy Awards.  Taylor attempts to join him, making attempts at  producing beat-box noises and record-scratching sound effects, but  failing miserably.   Finally, they both crack up and walk out of the  frame laughing, with LL yelling, "Oh my God!"

Despite her beat-box fail, Taylor actually isn't bad at rapping -- her rendition of Nicki Minaj 's "Super Bass" went viral last year.  And who could forget her "Thug Story"   video with T-Pain , in which she spit verses about baking cookies and knitting sweaters in her guise as "singer-turned-rapper" T-Sweezy?

One of the main reasons people liked watching   The Voice was because they enjoyed seeing the interplay between the show's four very different coaches: Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green and Blake Shelton.   The four coaches grace the cover of the new issue of    Rolling Stone  magazine, and in the accompanying article, Adam says of the quartet's  crazy chemistry: "Just look at the four of us. It's just so wrong and so  amazing."

Part of that chemistry is the fact that Christina is the only woman  among three men, which Adam claims he never really thought about  before.  In the cover story interview, Adam tells Christina, "I honestly  just recently started realizing that  you're surrounded by three dudes  all the time, and that has to be  something of a pain in the ass."    Christina says of her predicament, "You have to be a pretty strong girl  to stay up in the mix with the   guys. It's a lot. It's a crazy  locker-room kind of  situation."  Adam says they've tried to change the  locker-room ambiance a bit, noting, "We've stopped farting in front of  her!"

Adam also admits that he's jealous of Blake Shelton's ability to say  or do anything he wants, like tweet about being drunk at four in the  afternoon. He tells   Rolling Stone , "If I was like, 'I'm drunk  at 4:00!' I'd be attacked. He's  like, 'It's cool, f**k you, I just shot  a f***ing moose, kiss my ass!'  He can say whatever he wants."

The second season of   The Voice premieres Sunday night, right after the Super Bowl.

At each stop on her current Stronger tour, Kelly Clarkson has been treating audiences to interesting cover songs -- chosen by her fans -- by artists ranging from Cee Lo Green to Coldplay to Heart .  But one of her more recent cover versions has received a big thumbs up from the artist who originally recorded it: Sara Bareilles .

Tuesday night in Durham, North Carolina, Kelly performed "Gravity," a cut from Sara's debut album   Little Voice.     When she was finished singing, she told the audience, "I just think  [Sara's] such a beautiful writer, such a beautiful singer.  I'm glad  y'all picked her, 'cause I'm a huge fan of that song."  She then  encouraged everyone in the crowd to buy a copy.

A giddy Sara tweeted a link to a video of the performance, and added,  "Holy pipes, Batman! Kelly Clarkson sang Gravity. Woah. Gurrrl. Can.  SANG. So cool!"  Kelly should feel doubly proud about Sara's comments,  since, after all, she's a judge on NBC's reality competition   The Sing-Off.

Grammy nominee Chris Brown has been deemed this year's "worst-dressed man on the planet" by the UK edition of   GQ .  According to the   magazine ,  "For someone who seems to have so much disposable income -- he boasts  on one track about spending '15 grand on a phone' and charged over $500  for meet-and-greets on his last tour -- Brown seems utterly adverse to  investing in tailoring, combining the worst excesses of XXL sizing with a  penchant for deeply unflattering costumes."

Most of the offending outfits listed among   GQ 's photographic evidence come from Breezy's earlier days, but a couple are fairly new.  Among them is the   safety-pin-covered vest Chris wore with a pink bowtie during an appearance on NBC's   Today show, and an   American flag tank top and cuffed shorts he rocked during another performance.

Hollywood Shorts-"Glee" Pays Tribute to Michael Jackson Tonight Posted January 31, 2012 by Belky

After episodes saluting the music of Madonna , Britney Spears and Fleetwood Mac ,   Glee now turns its attention to the King of Pop: Michael Jackson .   While Michael's songs have been performed on the show before, Tuesday  night's episode is all MJ, all the time.  The episode revolves around  the rivalry between New Directions and the Warblers, Blaine's old group,  which is now led by nasty Sebastian.  In addition, Kurt and Rachel get  news about the admissions process to the New York City performing arts  school to which they've both applied, and things heat up between  Mercedes and Sam.

Naya Rivera , who plays Santana on   Glee ,  says she was thrilled to do a Michael Jackson episode because she's  actually been to Michael's Neverland Ranch several times.  It seems that  as a child, Naya befriended one of Michael's nieces, and attended her  birthday parties at Neverland.  "I  was, like, 'This is what heaven's  like,'" Naya recalls.  "They had a movie theater and I  remember going  in -- they had a candy counter -- and I was like seven,  so I'm like, 'I  don't have any money for any candy,' and  they're like, 'Everything's  free!'"

For Cory Monteith , who plays Finn, it was a  "privilege to honor" the late King of Pop with a show dedicated to his  songs. "Michael Jackson is one of the -- if not the -- most important  pop artist of the entire history of music," he says.  "It's kind of like  a dream come true."  And while you'd think it'd be intimidating for the  kids to take on such well-known classics as "Bad," "Wanna Be Startin'  Something," "I Just Can't Stop Loving You" and "Smooth Criminal," Amber Riley , who  plays Mercedes, says not for her.  "A lot of people here were nervous,  but I think a lot of us were like, '[Michael] was so accepting and he  made these songs for us, for us to make it our own.'"

Songs by both Michael Jackson and the Jackson 5 are featured on Tuesday's episode. Here's the track list:

"Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'" (Michael Jackson) -- Blaine
"I Want You Back" (Jackson 5)-- Sebastian & Warblers
"Bad" (Michael Jackson)-- New Directions & Warblers
"Scream" (Michael Jackson & Janet Jackson)-- Artie & Mike Chang
"Never Can Say Goodbye" (Jackson 5)-- Quinn
"Smooth Criminal" (Michael Jackson)-- Santana & Sebastian
"Ben" (Michael Jackson)-- Rachel, Finn & Kurt
"I Just Can't Stop Loving You" (Michael Jackson)-- Rachel & Finn
"Black or White (rap version)"- (Michael Jackson)-- New Directions & Warblers
"Human Nature"-(Michael Jackson)-- Mercedes & Sam

Adele is currently enjoying a third smash single from her world-beating album   21 :  "Set Fire to the Rain" has followed "Someone Like You" and "Rolling in  the Deep" to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart.   In a   video she made in which she discusses the songs on her album, Adele says "Set Fire to the Rain" was inspired by a double whammy.

"I was really, really heartbroken when I met who the song's about,"  she explains. "And he kind of brought me back to life and put me back  together." Unfortunately, her knight in shining armor turned out to be a  dud.  Adele laughs, "He was a d***head as well!"  More generally, Adele  says the song is "just about the contradictions that are in  relationships, really.  One person says this, the other person says  that."

In other Adele news, she'll be the first artist featured on the new season of the PBS series   Live from the Artists Den ,  which debuts February 3; check your local listings for exact airdates  and times.  The episode features Adele performing her hits during a show  taped at the Santa Monica Bay Woman’s  Club in California last year.
