WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) -- The woman convicted of mistreating her ex-boyfriends dog will be sentenced Monday.
22-year-old Sean Janas will appear at 1:30 p.m. before Marathon County Judge Greg Grau. Janas recently pled guilty to charges of felony mistreatment of animals and a misdemeanor count of exposing a domestic animal to a poisonous substance.
The case became known around the world due to Janas’ diary entries, where she claimed to enjoy torturing the lab-shepherd mix named Mary, before poisoning and stabbing it to death in 2012.
Janas could be sentenced to 18 months in jail, but with credit for time served, she may only have three months to go.
