Jimmy Fallon is slated to take over for Jay Leno on The Tonight Show in 2014. Since that was announced rumors have been flying about who will take over for Jimmy Fallon. Well, it's official NBC President Bob Greenblatt announced yesterday that Saturday Night Live "Weekend Update" anchor Seth Meyers will take the Late Night chair.
Meyers has been on SNL for 12 seasons and has been lead writer for the last 8. Lorne Michaels, the executive producer of both SNL and Late Night, is happy that Meyers and Fallon (also an SNL alum) will be continuing their careers on NBC and points out that since 1982 there have only been 3 hosts on Late Night starting with David Letterman.
