GEORGE CLOONEY TO HOST HAITI TELETHON... (UPDATED)

George Clooney will host a telethon to help raise money for Haiti.  

Clooney plans to host a telethon on MTV next Friday and it will air across MTV’s various networks including VH1.

Late yesterday, several other networks, including ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox, HBO and CNN , also have agreed to carry the program.

The event will be produced by Joel Gallen, who also produced the "Tribute to Heroes" 9/11 telethon.

In January 2005, Clooney organized the Tsunami Aid telethon, a multinetwork event that collected relief funds for the victims of the Asian disaster.
