Britney Spears is doing her part to help out Haiti by donating the dress she wore to the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards so it can be auctioned. The proceeds will help Haitian earthquake victims.

Britney needed to get permission from a court in Los Angeles to donate the dress because she is still under a conservatorship. Her father, Jamie, will oversee the donation.

The court also gave Britney's dad the authority to get rid of some of Britney's property that was used during last year's "Circus" tour.
