`HURT LOCKER' EARNS BEST-PICTURE ACADEMY AWARD... FROM 'DUDE' TO 'CRAZY HEART', JEFF BRIDGES IS A WINNER
It was an explosive night for the Iraq War drama "The Hurt Locker" , as it won best picture and five other prizes at the Academy Awards.
The best director trophy went to Kathryn Bigelow.
Besides being/looking HOT.
.. she is the first woman in the 82-year history of the Oscars to earn Hollywood's top prize for filmmakers.
Sandra Bullock won her first Oscar as best actress for "The Blind Side"; Jeff Bridges won best actor for "Crazy Heart"; Mo'Nique was named best supporting actress for "Precious"; and Christoph Waltz scored the supporting actor trophy for "Inglourious Basterds."

"Avatar" had three Oscars, for art direction, cinematography and its groundbreaking visual effects.
Some stars of John Hughes movies -- including Molly Ringwald, Matthew Broderick, Jon Cryer, Judd Nelson, Ally Sheedy, Anthony Michael Hall and Macaulay Culkin -- came out to talk about the director of "The Breakfast Club" and "Ferris Bueller's Day Off". He died in 2009.
Hughes' family was sitting in the audience, and received an ovation.
"Up" won best animated feature , giving Pixar studios another big win. It has dominated the category since its introduction for the 2002 awards. Pixar has now won three straight animated feature Oscars and five of the nine overall. Michael Giacchino's music for the film won best score.
dressed as one of "Avatar's" Na'vi right down to the tail, came out to present best makeup -- which, "Avatar" wasn't even up for. The award was won by "Star Trek."
