Ever see a great deal on meat? Like Prime Rib or Fillet Mignon? And you think..”I’ll do all this stuff to it so it’ll taste fantastic..!!” STOP..hang on there Chef!! The biggest mistake cooks make when trying to figure how to cook excellent cuts of meat is over thinking how to cook it. Thicker, prime steaks like these..take them out of the fridge at least a couple of hours early..let them warm up..and go simple with seasoning…salt for sure..and pepper if you want. Then get your sides all ready to go. We had baked potatoes, broccoli..super easy. Then when it comes time to cook the steak..crank up the oven..get it to 450 degrees..put in a cast iron pan too..heat that baby up..then sear your steaks for 30 seconds a side IF you want your steaks seared. We chose to not sear the steaks..so it’s just steaks on the cast iron pan then..in the oven..5 minutes a side and you have a super deelish meal!!
