Scary Days For Radio...

Had a meeting with all of our jocks and management today for the Midwest Communications stations..including WIFC's whole staff. It was to discuss the impact of the "Performance Tax Bill." To really drive it home what that bill would mean to us IF PASSED..only 4 people who are managers were asked to stand for a moment. IF THIS BILL PASSES those seated would lose their jobs, be fired, be gone..and everything you hear on radio would change. Radio staffs woudl be gone, satellite radio NOT LOCAL AT ALL would be piped in. Some of our stations would be shut down completely. So I'm not sure if I can state this with anymore impact than this. If you want to see 95-5 WIFC and our sister stations survive..contact our state's Congressional leaders, Representative Dave Obey, Senator Feingold and Senator Kohl and let them know that you oppose performance royalties for Wisconsin.".
