Scars remind us that the past is real...

I am absolutely positive this is the only blog anywhere with a Papa Roach lyric reference to Mount Rushmore. Gotta be. But it's the lyric that was going through my head when I took this. I vacationed out in the Black Hills. One of the things I highly suggest you do sometime is go to the nighttime lighting of the faces. Mount Rushmore looks the best at night..way more mood AND..you see these scars. I've heard the maintainance on Mt. Rushmore is huge. They fill in the cracks the best they can, but these "scars" show us America. I mean really. Think about our current state. 2 wars, oil all over the Gulf of Mexico, economic woes, but through all that..this is the place to be. We know it, we live it.
