Hits and Politics...

2 HUGE topics were at the water cooler (radio) today. One was the fines for really bad, injury creating hits in the NFL. These fines are getting higher and higher..highest we heard could be $75, 000. These would be for helmet to helmet hits and ones that clearly look like they're meant to hurt the opponent. We'll see if the fines are high enough to make football games less dangerous...can that really happen?

Then there's Christine O' Donell..the Deleware Senate Candidate that seems to be the topic of "She Said What??" every other day. Read this..

Yesterday's Senate debate in Delaware generated headlines about GOP candidate Christine O'Donnell's comments about the separation of church and state. When Democratic nominee Chris Coons said that public schools are not legally allowed to teach the theory of intelligent design alongside evolution, O'Donnell called this stance "a blatant violation of our Constitution." When Coons pointed out that one tenet of the Constitution is the separation of church and state, O'Donnell asked him, "Where in the Constitution is separation of church and state?"

The crowd laughed and the blogs went nuts. Her fans are calling every talk show in the world to fix the comments so people understand that what Christine was trying to point out is that the actual words "separation of church and state" are not in the constitution. Too late in my opinion. Politics is all about striking when the iron is hot. She didn't bring the right ammo to her political race in Deleware, but it makes for great material on t.v. and radio.

Never a shortage of things to talk about..the water cooler (radio) is a great place to be (Kallaway on the Rise) from 5am-10am...I'm just sayin'...
