The adored actor, who the world fell in love when he starred as Sherriff Andy Taylor on The Andy Griffith Show, died today in North Carolina.  The comedy ran from 1960-68, and introduced us to a young Ron Howard who played Andy's son, Opie.  Andy later returned to the spotlight with the detective series Matlock, which lasted almost 10 years, from 1986-95.  No matter which of his roles was your favorite, Andy was beloved in Hollywood.  He will be missed by all. RIP Andy.
