Again, thank you to WSAU's Larry Lee for alerting me to this story.

WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI (WSAU) - An 18-year-old Minnesota man will be in court today on animal abuse charges. 18-year-old Nong Vang told Wisconsin Rapids officers it was his puppy and he could do with it whatever he wanted. Prosecutors say he cut off a puppy's ears with a razor blade, which led to it’s death.
The alleged mutilation of the 4-to-5 month old puppy happened in June of 2009 when Vang was 15.
Vang is expected to enter a plea in Wood County court at 2:00 p.m TODAY (11-14-2012). He could get up to 3-1/2 years in prison if convicted. Vang is currently free on a $2,000 cash bond.
Cropping dog ears is common for some breeds and is done by trained professionals. In some cases, dog ears are cropped for the purpose of illegal dog fighting, so the opposing dog has less to hang on to during a fight. Vang was charged with mistreatment of an animal causing death after investigators had a veterinarian examine the puppy.
Does this story make you physically ill? You CAN make your voice known. HOWEVER, I ASK AND DEMAND THAT YOU DO SO CALMLY AND WITH KINDNESS TO THE JUDGE AND DISTRICT ATTORNEY.
THREATS AND THE LIKE ARE NOT USEFUL HERE. Send your thoughtful letter to the Court and the District Attorney's office and let them know that this is unacceptable......
