The winless New Jersey Nets have named GM Kiki Vandeweghe as the teams interim coach. New Jesrsey has tied an NBA record with an 0-17 start and could become the first team to open a season with 18 consecutive losses tonight when the Dallas Mavericks visit the Izod Center. I suppose it would be hard to find anybody who is interested in stepping into this mess for the next 6 months. Vandeweghe put this team together and now he can live with it as a daily reminder of his mistakes...and you thought your job was tough.

The Packers have the top ranked defense in yards allowed as they prepare for the Baltimore Ravens in a Monday night matchup. Hard to believe that they lose Harris & Kampmen and still are able to function at a high level. Of the 4 teams battling for 2 wildcard spots the Packers look like they have the easiest schedule but as they have shown earlier this season you can't let up against anyone.

The Wisconsin Badgers host 5th ranked Duke tonight in the Big Ten-Acc Challenge. Tough matchup for the young Badgers. The two leagues split a pair of games last night as North Carolina held off Michigan State and Purdue beat Wake Forest. Tonights other games include Illinois at Clemson, Minnesota at Miami, Boston College at Michigan and Florida State at Ohio State.

The Wausau West hockey team began their number 1 ranked season with a 9-2 win over Antigo on the road. Everest, SPASH, Marshfield, Tomahawk and Pacelli also won...and it the upset of the night...Waupaca dumped Rapids 3-1.
