The NFL Draft has moved to prime time. It starts tonight in New York. Is it a good thing. Some sports fans think the draft is better on the weekend when folks have more time to spend with it. A weeknight in the middle of the basketball & hockey playoffs with baseball games  going on as well leaves the fans eyeballs split. I've never been that interested in following the draft minute by minute....reading about mock drafts(one of the silliest exercises I can think of)...listening to Mel Kiper and the ever increasingly over-rated Chris Berman pointificate endlessly...no thanks...I'll read about it tomorrow.

Brewer fans can relax a bit as the panic of a sub-par start has slowed down a bit. The Brewers are hitting the ball well and got two exellent pitching performances back-to-back from Bush & Gallardo. I'll feel better when Wolf & Davis get a bit more consistent but the Brewers are in 2nd place in the division and back to .500. It's day baseball today...pregame show aty 11am on WSAU

A High School baseball doubleheader on Foxsports1390 WRIG...first up DC Everest vs Merrill at 4:15 with Wausau East at Marshfield to follow.

Remember the movie "48 Hours" with Eddie Murphy & Nick Nolte? Murphy plays an ex-con helping lawman Nolte find some missing money and catch a killer. He walks into a red-neck bar and immediatly utters the famous phrase "there's a new sheriff in town". I though of that yesterday when Roger Goodell continues his crackdown on boorish behavior by NFL players with a six game suspension of Ben Roethlisberger. The Steelers are one of the classiest family-owned franchises in the NFL and it will be interesting to see if they put up with Big Ben's crap or trade him away. The team aquired Byron Leftwich yesterday so don't be surprised if Roethlisberger is sent packing....Oakland anyone?
