Pulling The Trigger

Well, they didn't release him but the Brewers have finally decided that Jeff Suppan will no longer be a starter. He heads to the bullpen where hopefully he will do less damage. Chris Narveson will replace him in the rotation...at least for awhile. The Brewers were swept by the Cubs at Miller Park for the first time since 2003 and hopefully will regain their stroke against the hapless Pirates who come in for three starting tonight. you can hear the game on WSAU beginning at 6:30.

After the Brewers started getting pasted on Sunday...I actually turned on the Nascar race. I'm not a big race fan but Talladega usually offers up a good race and it didn't disappoint. I believe they said there were more lead changes than any race in Nascar history and Kevin Harvick timed his move exactly right to edge Jamie McMurray at the finish line by inches.

How bout them Bucks! After the first two games you couldnt see how they were going to ever match up with the Hawks but a huge noisy crowd at the Bradley Center got them fired up for an inspired performance Saturday night. Everybody was hitting shots including Kurt Thomas and Dan Gadzauric who both had big games. Can they do it again tonight? You can hear the game on Foxsports1390 WRIG

I've got East baseball for you today on our sister station Foxsports1390 WRIG as the Lumberjacks take on Eau Claire Memorial in non-conference play. Pregame at 4:15 Tuesday the Jacks host Wausau West with both teams looking for their first Valley wins. We'll have that game as well.

Songs of the Day-  (from my I-pod)

Fight The Power-Isley Brothers (1975) political funk from the brothers who have been making music since the 50's. Inspired an even more political rap 14 years later from Public Enemy

The Final Countdown-Europe (1986) the opening riff is instantly recognizable and transports you back to the days of big hair, big phones and cheesy rock anthems. This Swedish group didn't even want to release this but it became a smash. Check out this video using the song as background for a scene from the classic HBO series "Band of Brothers:
