If you were Brewer General Manager Doug Melvin...you have some decisions to make...the biggest being whether or not to trade Prince Fielder. I think you do...if...you can get a big enough return. 2 or 3 pitchers nearly ready for the majors...that throw hard. Along with a first baseman that can be a stop gap until the farm system can get one ready.  It would seem the Orioles would be a perfect trading partner...they have alot of young pitchers and need a First Baseman with power desperatly.Another name being mentioned is Corey Hart. He of course, is the hottest Brewer right now but that may be the time to get the most in return. Remember how bad he was in Spring Training and the early part of the season. The next question for owner Mark Attanasio is whether or not you want Doug Melvin & Ken Macha calling the shots going forward. Melvin has been an astute GM over the years but he has also had some monumental misses. Macha is so laid back he's almost comatose. would a managerial change make a difference. It shouldn't...major league players should be able to motivate themselves and Macha doesn't pitch, hit or field. I don't know what the feeling is in the Brewer clubhouse about Macha but a managerial change doesn't guarantee anything.

The Woodchucks rebounded from a pasting Saturday night and beat the Mallards yesterday. They play a couple of games in Battle Creek before returning home.

The legion season is winding down fast. A busy week for the Post Bulldogs on the road. Monday in Marshfield, Wednesday in Plover, Thursday in Rapids and Friday in Merrill. Post 10 is still in the hunt for a conference title.
