No European golfer had won the US Open in 40 years. That was until Sunday when Northern Ireland's Graeme McDowell shot even par at Pebble Beach and held off the rest of the field. Alot of golfers had a chance on the final 9 holes but couldnt get it done. The next major is the British Open at St. Andrews followed by the PGA Championship right down the road at Whistling Straits. I went the last time it was held at the Straits course and if you havent been to a major golf event you should check it out.
The Brewers went 3-3 on their trip and Randy Wolf pitched well in yesterday's win. that's certainly a good sign although I'd like to see some consistency from him. Milwaukee welcomes the Twins to Miller Park starting Tuesday night.
The Woodchucks did what they had to do sweeping Waterloo over the weekend. They have moved into a tie for first in the Southern Divison. The Chucks return home Monday night (tonight) hosting Wisconsin Rapids. It's Little League Night...all Little Leaguers get in free...plus there will be a baseball card giveaway. I'll be in the booth with Adam Seidel to bring you the game on our sister station Foxsports 1390 WRIG.
The Wausau Legion Post 10 Bulldogs split two doubleheaders over the weekend against quality opponents. Saturday Post 10 took game one against Ashwaubenon-Bayport 6-1 while dropping the nightcap 15-5. Sunday they traveled to De Pere and lost the first game 8-2 while winning the second game 10-5. The bulldogs are now 8-4 on the season and return to action Wednesday night at Merrill.
