The Bucks aquired John Salmons from the Bulls a couple of weeks ago. Since then, Milwaukee has lost only once and Salmons is a big reason why. Scott Skiles knew that if the Bucks were going to take the next step they needed to get bigger at the guard spot. Salmons brings size and he also brings the ability and detrmination to get to the rim. He doesnt settle for jump shots and to find an NBA guy who is willing, especially late in games to go the hole is a rare thing. The Bucks have a nice mix of vets and young guys and Scott Skiles has them playing defense. They are no longer fighting for the last playoff spot but can actually move up to the 5th spot this week. They could prove to be a tough opponent in a playoff series.
Iowa couldnt put up much of a fight against Wisconsin last night. Jon Leuer is back in shape and put up 18 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists ansd 3 steals in a 67-40 win. Bucky finishes the regular season Sunday at Illinois.
Wausau West begins their state hockey tournament run today against Wisconsin Rapids. Rapids comes out of the weakest regional and is a decided underdog to the loaded Warriors. Baseball is back! Spring Training games are available on the MLB Network and the Brewers begin games today agains San Francisco. Box scores are back. This is the 30th anniversary of the invention of Fantasy baseball which started the fantasy sports craze. I've played since the mid-80's and look forward to the draft every year. Some people are addicted to video games or on-line poker...I'll take fantasy baseball. And the reason that Fantasy baseball has it over other fantasy sports is that there is action every day. But, it should be a personal thing. Nobody else wants to hear about your fantasy sports team...really...it's boring to other people...trust me on this.
We have a girls basketball doubleheader tonight on Foxsports1390 WRIG as the regular season comes to an end. First up is DC Everest vs Wausau West followed by Wausau East at Rhinelander.
Songs of the Day (from my I-POD)
Easy Money-Rickie Lee Jones (1979) a breezy heist tune from her debut. Jones exploded on the LA scene in the late 70's, appeared on SNL and sold out shows at Carnegie Hall. She still tours and records.
Ebb Tide-Righteous Brothers (1965) the combo of Bill Medley (low voice) and Bobby Hatfield (high voice) was a winner. Hatfield (from Beaver Dam) wails on this one.
