Dream Season Comes to Abrupt End

No State Championships for the Wausau West Warriors this winter but that certainly doesnt diminish what their teams accomplished. The wrestling, hockey and girls basketball teams all made the state tournament and the boys basketball team won a conference title. It's often said that it's not the end result but the journey that matters. That's hard to understand when you're 18 and your high school career has come to an end....but these athletes will be telling stories about this season for decades and friendships forged during the long practice days and in locker rooms around the state will last a long time.

The Bucks are all of sudden banged up. They've lost two straight and Andrew Bogut missed last nights game with a sore back. Carlos Delfino left the game on a stretcher after hitting his head on the floor. Any successful season is predicated on good health. If Bogut and Delfino miss alot of time...the fantastic Bucks season good turn sour quickly.

The Badger hockey teams is still alive with a chance to go the Frozen Four. Wisconsin beat Vermont Friday night and will get another crack at St. Cloud State Saturday night. You can hear the game on WSAU at 7:30.

Fox TV is cancelling "24" after this season. The show has always beena mixed bag...when it's good, it's very good....but it has become predictable over the years. I can see them resting it for a few years and then bringing back the cast for a movie. A big screen version of 24 would have to be condensed but could do very well

Songs of the Day  (from my i-pod)

Everybodys Everything-Santana (1971) from the 3rd album comes this powerful tune featuring the Tower of Power horns and a 15 year old Neal Schon on the guitar solo. he would form Journey a few years later.

Everybody's Talking-Nillson (1969) Freddie Neil wrote it but Harry Nillson had the hit and it became the featured tune in the movie 'Midnight Cowboy"
