If you havent watched the BBC's updated version of Sherlock Holmes you really are missing something special. PBS is running the three 90 minute movies that make up the second season. The 3rd one will be this Sunday night on Masterpiece Mystery but go back and start at the beginning. The first three are available on video. If you think you know Sherlock Holmes from the various versions over the years.,..this is an entirely new reading of the classic Holmes tales set in current day London and featuring all of the technology that we have become so dependent on. Benedict Cumberbatch is brilliant as Holmes. I didnt think anybody would ever top Jeremy Brett's version of the detective from the classic PBS show of the 90's, but this new interpretation is excellent. With all of the crap on televison it is so refreshing when something of high quality, refreshingly new yet familiar rises from the bubbling cesspool.
