The last three times that the Green Bay Packers had a 2-3 record or worse after five weeks they finished 6-10, 8-8 & 4-12. Houston will be a tough one this week but after that they have three very winnable games going into the bye. You wouldnt have thought that the Packers would have been satisfied with a 5-4 record at the bye but at this point they would take that in a heartbeat. There are alot of reasons why the struggles continue. Mike McCarthy says that the problems are in all areas and that penalties play a part as well. Aaron Rodgers says they arent converting on third down like they need to and james Jones says the second half on Sunday had no rhythm.

An now they will have to move forward without Cedric Benson who looked like he as really starting to come on. It's been reported that Benson has a Lisfranc injury in his foot that could keep him out eight weeks.

The Bucks begin pre-season games tonight at Cleveland. Ted Davis will have the call on Foxsports1390. Remember this is a full NBA season this year after the shortened one last year. To me it looks like The LA Lakers are most improved. They should be the team to beat in the West...and aeverything in the East should go through Miami. I think the Bucks get back to the playoffs with their improved defense inside.

A rough night for Auburndale native and UWSP grad Jordan Zimmerman last night. He lasted only three innings in a Washinton nationals loss to the Cardinals. That series is tied one game apiece.

The high school soccer regionals begin today. You can find the schedule in the sports section of this website. Also tonight in volleyball Wausau West oplay at Wausau East. It's the Volley For The Cure Game to raise money and awareness for breast cancer research. It starts at 7pm at the East gym.

What new tv shows have you checked out? I have added 'The Last Resort", "Elementary" and "Vegas" to my regular list.
