Estrada Continues To Impress

Posted by Tom King on

Marco Estrada did it again last night. He won again as the Brewers beat the Pirates 3-1 to remian 2 1/2 games back in the wild card chase. Estrada allowed only three hits and no runs through seven innings and retired the last 10 batters he faced. He's 4-1 with a 1.23 ERA in his last six starts. He will certainly be in the mix for a regular spot in the rotation next year.

Nori Aoki continues to prove to be one of the best off-season signings in the majors. Doug Melvin inked the Japanese outfielder while only seeing him play on video. He doesnt look like a normal hitter...but all he does is get on base...and now adding a little powere as well. he led off last nights game with his 9th homer...and hit another rocket that was run down in the right field gap. He will almost certainly be the starting right fielder next season.

Week 3 of the NFL begins tonight as the Giants visit Carolina. New York is banged up...no Hakeem Nicks, Ahmad Bradshaw or David Diehl.

Some of the Bucks veterans have already joined the rookies in St. Francis even though training camp doesnt start for 13 days. good to see Irsan Illysova lead by example after signing the big free agent contract in the off-season.

Watched the first episode of "Revolution"...it had its moments...I'll give it a few more weeks to capture me.

Songs of The Day  (from my I-pod)

Kid Charlemagne-Steely Dan (1976) from the classic Lp 'The Royal Scam" comes my favorite Dan song...featuring the killer guitar solo from Larry Carlton...here is a live version featuring current guitarist Jon Herington who is no slouch.

The Kids Are Alright-The Who (1965) an early Who classic and I had to find the original because nobody can drum like Keith Moon.
