I'm not going to beat the dead horse again today. Everyone can see the replacement officials in the NFL are incompetent. Either the league cares or it doesnt. It fines players and coaches if the don't respect "the shield" (the NFL logo) and yet it continues to allow this travesty. And it's the league's choice. They are the ones who have locked out the regular officials over an amount of money that works out to around $100,000 per team. If this isnt resolved in the next two weeks then football fans should realize that the NFL doesnt care about you or the integrity of the game,...and fans should act accordingly...with their money...their attendance...and their viewing habits.
Auburndale native Jordan Zimmerman might have put a dagger in the heart of the Brewers yesterday. He shut down Milwaukee while his teammmates were hammering Brewer pitching to the tune of 12-2. With the loss and a win by the Cardinals last night Milwaukee is now three back with nine to play in the wildcard chase. Gonna be tough.
Montee Ball didnt practice yesterday but is still #1 on the Badger depth chart. He suffered a concussion and we probably wont know until later this week whether he can play against Nebraska on Saturday night.
Chris Borland was named Big Ten defensive player of the week.
Don't forget Bill Michaels who's statewide show airs on Foxsports1390 will be in town tomorrow (Wednesday). I'll be hosting a Q&A with Bill at Tailgatz in Weston (formerly Buffalo Wings & Rings) at 6:30. Hope you can join us.
Songs of The day (from my I-pod)
Killing Me Softly With His Song-Roberta Flack(1973) Flack's beautiful performance of a Norman Gimbel/Charles Fox song written about a young singer named Lori Leiberman who experienced the feelings of this song while watching Don McLean perform at the Troubadour in LA.
The Killing of Georgie-Rod Stewart (1976) an unlikely hit...a long song about the killing of a gay man in New York...before Rod became something of a musical joke
