Don't look now, but Wisconsin is 4-0 and in first place in the Big Ten. Its the first time they have won their first 4 league games since 2007-2008 and they did it with a solid win over the #2 ranked Indiana Hoosiers last night in Bloomington. Despite being outrebounded Wisconsin out-shot the Hoosiers and only turned the ball over eight times in the game. They also held Indiana to just one made basket in the final four minutes of action. They have now won seven straight and its their highest-ranked road win in school history.
The Bucks were not so fortunate. The Lakers and Dwight Howard have been struggling...not last night. LA beat the Bucks 104-88. Howard had a monster game with 31 points, 16 rebounds and four blocked shots. The Bucks shot a measly 35.8 % with the starters shooting just 33%. Jim Boylan said it was the pressure of the Lakers that forced alot of misses in the game. Milwaukee plays in Phoenix on Thursday.
Mike McCarthy got a bit testy at his final press conference of the year when he was asked the status of Dom Capers. He said he fully expect Capers to be back next season and called the idea of firing Capers "knee-jerk" and "crazy". McCarthy and his staff will "coach" in the Pro Bowl game in Hawaii. Aaron Rodgers will not play in the game after being elected as a starter. He didnt pass his physical with knee and ankle problems.
Jimmy O'Neill has died at the age of 73. O'Neill was the host of Shindig...one of the best musical programs of the 60's. Many of the acts on Shindig didnt lip sync which made it stand out from Bandstand and some of the other shows that popped up in that decade. He also had a memorable appearance on the Flintstones in 1965.
