Could This Be The Year?

The Milwaukee Bucks havent had an All-Star since 2004 when Michael Redd made the team. Right now Monta Ellis is sixth and Brandon Jennings is 10th among Eastern Conference guards in the voting. Both average around 18 points and five assists a game. The Bucks are an up & down team but certainly are playing better than most people thought they would and would be in the playoffs if they started today. In my mind Jennings is the guy that the All-Star coaches should consider. Not that the NBA All-Star game is anything that important...but getting a member of the Bucks on the squad would be a nice indication that the team is moving in the right direction.

The Bucks havent won in Phoenix in 24 years. Don Nelson was the coach and Sidney Moncrief was the leading scorer at the time.

The Pointer men's and womene's basketball teams continue to play well. They both beat Platteville last night. The men are 8-0 in WIAC play. The women moved into a four-way tie for first place.

The Brewers have already sold over a million tickets for this season. Its the second earlierst date ever to pass that milestone.

I'll be at Marathon Park tonight for the Kuehlman Cup game as Wausau East and West square off. West has dominated this game. East hasnt won the cup for years but one of my favorite hockey memories comes from the game in 2004. My son Wade scored the tying goal as the Lumberjacks played the Warriors even. It's the last time East hasnt lost the game and the last time they won it dates back to the 90's. Sam Wiegert has been steller in goal for West this year...setting a school record for shutouts earlier this season. Pre game show at 7 and the puck drops at 7:15 on Foxsports AM 1390 & FM 93.9.

Listen To Her Heart-Tom Petty & Heartbreakers (1978) early Petty is the best Petty.

Listen To The Music-Doobie Brothers (1972) The great Tom Johnston fronting the early Doobies...love the dual drummers...this is live from that great show The Midnight Special.
