Tony's Blog 2/8: What happens in a snowboard avalanche

Reading posts about this footage, many seem to think the snowboarder here was going into a dangerous situation that should have been avoided.  This was on January 25, 2012 in the Snake River Valley near Montezuma, Colorado.  An avalanche starts as this snow boarder goes down the mountain.  An avalanch airbag is deployed to help prevent the snowboarder from being buried alive.  Would you snowboard on a mountain?
