Tim Tebow wants to be a baseball player. And 20 major league teams will at least take a look at the former QB at a private try-out next week. Tebow's football career stalled after a couple of years in the pros and despite doing a good job on tv…the 29 year old has decided to give baseball a try. He was a very good high school player but that was over 10 years ago. Many athletes think that if they are good in a sport, they should be able to compete in all sports. just one problem with that…baseball is hard. Michael Jordan found that out. Russell Wilson found that out. There have been exceptions…Bo Jackson, Deion Sanders and Brian Jordan played both…back even farther…Dave De Busschere and Gene Conley pitched in the majors while also playing NBA hoops and Tom Brown played safety for the Packers and second base for the Washington Senators. I hope Tebow can do it…but I'm not holding my breath. As Wilson, who played minor league ball for the Rangers put it, “I hope he can hit the curve ball”
Both Clay Matthews and Julius Peppers will meet with the NFL today and avoid that automatic suspension that was supposed to kick in. The two will answer questions about that PED report that surfaced earlier. They both deny the report.
Wisconsin badger lineman Dan Voltz is walking away from football as a senior. His body just won't cooperate. He says he wants to be able to walk and function properly down the road and feels it's time to face reality. Good for him. Many jocks wouldn't be able to make a decision like this. he says he wants to stay around the team and help out the younger players.
Went kayaking on the Wisconsin River and man am I feeling it today. Need to get a more consistent exercise routine and not over-do in on an occasional basis.
