Bounce Back Time For Bucky

by Tom King

Bo Ryan gave his team the day off after their loss at Indiana on Tuesday. The Badgers didnt look like themselves on Tuesday especially on the defensive end as the Hoosiers were able to get to the rim at will. As commentator Dan Dakich said during the game he hadnt seen Wisconsin be so tentative and out of sorts this season. Bo Ryan was philosophical after the game knowing that the chance of going unbeaten during a Big Ten season wasnt that likely and knowing the bigger issue now is how does the team bounce back as they welcome Michigan in to Madison Saturday night. In my opinion, the Wolverines are not happy and will run into a buzz saw on Saturday. In athletics it isnt always about winning and losing...its about how you handle a loss and how you bounce back... think this team will respond very favorably.

2 great games in the NFL this weekend. Both will probably be better than the Super Bowl game. I think SF and Denver move on although I could be convinced that Seattle can win their game. I don't think New England can win at Denver.

Time is running out to check out the UWSP mens basketball team as they try to put together a perfect season. Only four regular season home games remain. Jan 29 vs Eau Claire, Feb 1st vs Superior..Feb 12th in what could be a great game vs Platteville and Feb 22nd against Stout...make your plans now.

The Brewers are talking about signing Mark Reynolds to play first base this season. Reynolds certainly isnt a perfect player...he strikes out too much and will never have a high on base percentage...but he can hit homers and that was a balck hole at the position last season. I was intrigued by the suggestion that Rickie Weeks could play there...as I think Scooter Gennett will earn the second base job this season...but once again Weeks hasnt shown much the last couple of years and Reynolds would again be an upgrade over him. That signing may happen in the next few days.
