Reviving Rock & Roll One Last Time

by Tom King

The Rock & Roll Revival returns to the Rothschild Pavilion tomorrow (Saturday) and from what is being said it will be for the last time. This event has been held off and on for years and it's always a great time as bands from the 60's, 70's, 80's and beyond reunite for a day and night of classic rock & roll. If you have been a fan of live music in the Wausau area you will see and hear alot of familiar faces and voices. Guys like Denny Bloom, Bob Knapp & Dick Lodholz and Andy Zynda...bands like Directions of Time and the Nightbeats...Blindside will be there...Cruz will put on the makeup and do a KISS set...John Altenburgh & Mitch Viegut will fill the stage with their musical friends(an Airkraft reunion is hinted at) and of course the day wouldnt be complete without Robin Lee gracing the stage and belting out Cara Mia. The show runs from 3-midnight and a minimum donation 5 bucks will go toward the Honor Flight program. I'll be hosting this event again as someone who has been at many of these I'm guaranteeing you a great time. You may never see some of these acts on stage again so why would you miss it? As Jim Rosenberg would say...get on down there!

It's the Brewers and Cubs this weekend. Some one ran the numbers and with their great start to the season the Brewers only have to go .500 the rest of the season to win 88 games. That's the number of wins I predicted and could put them within striking distance of a wildcard...but certainly you can see them being better than 500 the rest of the way.

Songs Of The Day (some R & R Revival stuff)

Dream Drifter-Robin Lee & The Lavenders- I was a dj at the Free Spirit disco when Robin (aka Roger Schenzel owned it) those were great days

Rosie-Johnny & The Motones....it's always a blast when Johnny & his friends tear up the stage
