Sanders Needs To Grow Up

by Tom King

This past off-season Larry Sanders of the Bucks said all the right things as the team was dismantled and put back together with 11 new players. He talked about being a leader and making sure he controlled his temper which led to all kinds of on-court problems last year. The highest paid Buck was expected to help new coach Larry Drew bring the Bucks back to respectability. Well...that lasted about a week. Sanders has already received a couple of technical fouls in games and earlier this week got into it with Luke Ridenour in practice. Drew was not amused and is trying to nip this in the bud. The Bucks cannot be a contender for a deep playoff run without Sanders playing well. But if he hasnt grown up enough to control his temper it's not going to work.

The Badgers have looked at a sophomore and freshman to take over field goal and extra point duties. Jack Russell and Andrew Endicott are competing this week to see who will have the job saturday night when Wisconsin plays at Illinois.

I should know better than to make a change at quarterback in fantasy football. I've been dissastified with the production of Russell Wilson so I sat him this week against the tough Arizona defense on Thursday night football. Of course Wilson threw 3 tds last night in a win over the Cardinals.

The Red Sox could go back to the World Series for the 3rd time in the last ten years. They can close out Detroit on Saturday at Fenway. The Red Sox bullpen has been lights out. Some of the Tiger hitters have struggled mightily especially Prince Fielder.

The Cardinals can close out the Dodgers tonight.

The final regular season Friday night of high school football tonight. You can hear a doubleheader on Foxsports1390 & FM 93.9. First up DC Everest at Kimberly at 6:30 followed by Wausau East at Appleton North.

Gabi Kitchell of DC Everest and Emily Luetschwager of Spash won their opening matches at the State girls tennis tournament in Madison. Play continues today including D-2 #1 seed Grace Larrain of Wausau Newman.
