WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) – A Wausau teen has been charged with stealing a car on Thanksgiving, filling it up with gas twice without paying and leading officers on a brief high-speed chase last night.
A judge set 18-year-old Woua Lor’s bond at $2,500 with the first $250 in cash. A preliminary hearing is set for December 9.
Lor admitted stealing the car Thursday night and filling it up with gas twice at the BMW Fuel Mart without paying for it.
The woman whom Lor stole the car from was visiting her parents for the holiday and said she noticed the car missing about 7 p.m. Thanksgiving night. Angela Bloom said the car was unlocked with the keys inside.
A patrol officer noticed Lor driving the car in the 2000 block of Sherman Street around 7:30 last night and pursued it. Lor fled, reaching speeds of 78 miles-per-hour, hitting a garbage can, nearly hitting a house and crashing into a tree in the 1000 block of Sherman Street.
Lor confessed to the crime spree in a police interview.
He cannot drive, must observe a 8 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. curfew and cannot have any contact with the victims.
