GREEN BAY, Wis. (WTAQ) - Brown County may soon have a law on the books aimed at catching scrap metal thieves. Sheriff Dennis Kocken says an ordinance like this would give his deputies another tool to help investigate scrap metal thefts. He says the proposed ordinance would require scrap metal dealers to enter information from the person who is selling the scrap metal into a computer. Kocken says with the price of scrap metal being quite high, it's an ordinance that will help them track stolen metals.
