FOND DU LAC (WRN) - A buck taken by a Fond du Lac hunter last September has been certified as a new Wisconsin record. The 30 point buck is the largest non-typical buck shot with a bow in state history. The rack was measured last weekend earning a record breaking score of 243.75 inches. The scoring had to wait for 60 days after the kill. Wayne Schumacher's buck beats the record set last year by a hunter from Eau Claire. Schumacher shot the buck September 20th west of Fond du Lac. He says he has been bow hunting for 36 years and has never seen a bigger deer.
