WAUSAU, Wis (WSAU) A former probation officer who fondled some of the women he was supervising has been ordered to pay 150-thousand dollars each to two of his victims. They sued Larry Taft for emotional distress. A third lawsuit is pending.
It's unclear if Taft will be able to pay. He's served 15 months in prison for criminal charges related to the case.
Earlier, a federal judge dropping the corrections department from the civil lawsuit, saying Taft's supervisors were unaware of the situation and took proper action when the first complaints were filed.
The victims say Taft forced them to give him hugs, fondled them, and forced his body against theirs.
