ROTHSCHILD, Wis (WSAU) There was a garage fire in Rothschild last night, but authorities do not think it's connected to a series of arsons in Wausau.
A man was working in the garage, and a space-heater may have started the fire after he went inside his house.
The fire happened around 8pm near Business 51. The garage was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived, and the structure was a total loss. Two nearby homes suffered minor damage because of the intense heat.
Authorities are still investigating a series of five garage fires on Wausau's east side, all set within an 18-hour period. There have been no arrests in that case.
