WAUSAU, Wis (WSAU) A Marathon County committee is recommending that county board members give up their pay raises over the next two years. Board members are expecting 3-percent salary increases each year.
The county's Human Resources Committee says forgoing raises would be symbolic by the board. The county is negotiating with several of its labor unions, and raises despite the tough economy are one of the negotiating points.
County board members get the same percentage raise as county workers.
