WAUSAU, Wis (WSAU) A wrongful death lawsuit has been filed in the case of a fatal fire from a year ago that killed three children.

Because of intense heat and damage to the structure, the cause of the fire at 801 South First Avenue has never been determined. The building has since been demolished.

The father of the three victims is suing the landlord, claiming that a request was made to fix a faulty electrical outlet, and that the building was not properly maintained.

The fire killed 9-year-old Mitchell Block, 8-year-old Mackenzie Block, and 3-year-old Faith Fondie. Three adults and four other children escaped.
