CASTLE, Wis. (WSAU) - At least one person is dead after a car crash on Highway 29. It happened before 8am this morning near the intersection of County Highway S.

The victim is a 68-year-old woman from Edgar. Her name won't be released until family members are notified. Two people in the other vehicle were taken to Aspirus Wausau hospital with minor injuries.

Sheriff's Lieutenant Gary Wiesneski says the other two people involved were driving westbound on Highway 29, when driver who was killed entered the intersection. Early morning sun may have been a factor in the crash, but the investigation team is still on scene this afternoon looking over the accident.

The area is currently closed down to one lane of traffic heading westbound.
