MADISON, Wis. (WSAU) – A federal grand jury has indicted a Wausau man on drug dealing charges and a Mexican citizen charged with illegally re-entering the U.S.
An indictment accuses 29-year-old Eric Maholmes of Wausau with possessing 28 grams or more of crack cocaine with the intent to distribute. The Marathon County sheriff’s department found Maholmes with the drug on October 9th. He faces a minimum of five years in prison and up to 40 years if convicted.
Meanwhile, 33-year-old Juan Miguel Perez-Arellano has been charged with illegally re-entering the U.S. after previously being deported. Immigration and customs agents found him in Wood County on December 9th.
Perez-Arellano faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
