STEVENS POINT, Wis (WSAU) The Stevens Point board of education is reviewing a list of seven finalists for their superintendent opening. One of the candidates is the current interim superintendent Attila Weninger. He's been running the school district since this fall to give the school board more time to complete its search.
Three other applicants are from Wisconsin. They are Three Lakes superintendent George Karling and Ashland High School principal David Aslyn, and Campbellsport school administrator Daniel Olsen. The other finalists are from Iowa, Minnesota, and Illinois.
The school board will decide in January which candidates to interview. A new superintendent will be hired in the spring, and will take over during the summer.
