UNDATED (WSAU) At least 19 people have been killed in Wisconsin snowmobile accidents this winter. The latest victim is in Green Lake County, where the body of 31-year-old Brian Strauss of Markesan was recovered yesterday morning. Authorities said his machine apparently hit an ice shanty on Little Green Lake. He was last seen late Sunday night riding from the nearby Big Green Lake. The incident is still being investigated.
The state’s snowmobile death toll is one fewer than the 20 recorded at this time last winter. Twenty-three deaths were recorded for all of last season.
