KENOSHA, Wis. (WTAQ) - A Racine man is scheduled to be sentenced Monday afternoon for punching a popular Kenosha middle-school teacher to death. 21-year-old Martin Walker faces up to 27 years behind bars, after a jury convicted him of felony murder in the death of 24-year-old Colin Byars. It happened a year ago Sunday. Authorities said the 2 argued outside a Kenosha sports bar – Walker punched Byars in the face – and then the victim fell and hit his head on the sidewalk. The jury did not buy Walker’s claim of self defense. His lawyer said both men had acted disorderly.
