RIB MOUNTAIN, Wis. (WSAU) – You can see what a remodeled Rib Mountain State Park will look like during an informational meeting tonight.

The park will undergo a $6 million renovation this summer that will include repaving the main park road, extending sewer and water to the top and the building of a new visitor center and park office.

The main park road will be closed to vehicle traffic when the work begins this spring, said park manager Bill Bursaw. Access will be maintained to homes along the road.

Bursaw said the short-term inconvenience is worth the long-term gain.

The road and water projects should be done by the fall. The new visitor's center and other parts of the project will wrap up by the summer of 2011.
