MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WTAQ) - A suburban Milwaukee man has struck a plea deal for supplying the drugs which killed a 15-year-old girl. 23-year-old Matthew Laughrin pleaded guilty Thursday to second-degree reckless homicide and a pair of drug charges. In exchange, prosecutors agreed to ask the judge for a 12 year prison sentence at the most. Authorities said Laughrin and his father Richard dumped the body of Maddie Kiefer in a friend’s driveway on the morning after a Saturday night party last year. Richard Laughrin was sentenced in December to 2 years in prison for child abandonment. Kiefer died with several drugs in her body – including two which are often used to treat addictions to heroin.
