UNDATED (WSAU) – Four places in Wisconsin made Money Magazine’s annual list of the 100 best small cities to live in.
Waukesha is ranked 50th, Eau Claire 69th, Madison 95th, and Appleton 96th.
The magazine compared cities of 50,000 to 300,000 residents on things like housing costs, the general economy, crime, and community support.
Eden Prairie Minnesota, near Minneapolis, is number-one on the list.
Appleton community development director Karen Harkness said Money magazine interviewed her, Mayor Tim Hanna, and others about their quality-of-life.
She said they appeared to be impressed with her city’s quote, “spirit of patriotism.” A Flag Day parade is one of Appleton’s major events.
