ASHWAUBENON, Wis. (WSAU) – The Wausau Bulldogs rallied for four runs in the first inning en route to a 5-3 win over LaCrosse at the American Legion state tournament Thursday afternoon.
Mitch Howe hit a 2-run single and Ryan Zweck ripped an RBI triple to help open up the scoring over the top-ranked team in the state.
Starting pitcher Adam Kramer threw into the 7th and took the win. Zweck got the save.
Wausau will play Friday night at 7:30 against the winner of Eau Claire-DePere. The Bulldogs are 2-0 after winning their opening game over Oconomowoc 16-4 on Wednesday.
