MILWAUKEE (WSAU) Residents are being warned to be on guard against scammers posing as Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District workers.
The district says some people apparently are trying to convince people that they're employees in order to gain entry into homes, under the guise of testing water samples. It says it's received a report from a resident that someone telephoned twice on Wednesday. MMSD says it is not going to people's homes to test drinking water.
An earlier statement from the city Health Department indicated drinking water in Milwaukee was safe after recent flooding.
