TOMAHAWK, Wis. (WSAU) – Investigators searched but did not find any human remains on a farm in northern Lincoln County where a 21-year-old was last seen in May 1996.
Acting on a tip, authorities called in cadaver dogs to help search the property Thursday in the town of Wilson about three miles northwest of Tomahawk. A dog alerted to the possibility of human remains. But investigators from the sheriff’s office and the state crime lab did not find any sign of human remains after a day-long search Friday.
Police are searching for Ben Wilberding, who was last seen at the property. His disappearance remains an active investigation.
