DUNN COUNTY, Wis. (WTAQ) - A Minnesota man has been put on 2 years’ probation in connection with a drug overdose that killed a western Wisconsin man.
33-year-old Richard Roiz of suburban St. Paul had pleaded no contest to being a party to heroin possession. His public defender said Roiz did not supply the heroin that killed 37-year-old Adrian Albrecht of Downing in Dunn County last New Year’s Eve.
District Attorney James Peterson said he still believes Roiz was involved – but he has a better chance of proving that a co-defendant provided the heroin that killed Albrecht.
36-year-old Jessica Quirt of Minnetonka Minnesota is due in court July 20th, when a judge will decide if there’s enough evidence to put her on trial for first-degree reckless homicide.
Besides his probation, Roiz must get drug and alcohol rehabilitation, and stay sober at all times.
